Women who are less than 77 days pregnant are prescribed a combination of Mifepristone and Misoprostol to suppress their pregnancies as soon as they become pregnant. As a result, pregnancy hormones are prevented from entering the uterus, resulting in the uterus becoming inoperable. These hormones are required for the uterus to function correctly throughout pregnancy, and as a result, the fetus is ejected. Additionally, if surgery fails or is not an option, it regulates high blood sugar in persons with Cushing’s syndrome and type 2 diabetes.
This drug should be supplied with a Medication Guide and the medication. If you have any concerns, you should consult with your doctor. Your doctor can only give this drug. It is not permitted to be taken home. Visiting your doctor for three appointments is required to finish the treatment. You will be given a Mifepristone tablet to take as a starting point. You will be given Misoprostol at your second appointment, a separate medicine. Your doctor will do another pregnancy test in two weeks to ensure that you no longer carry a child. One alternative is to have an ultrasonography examination.
The bleeding and cramps you will experience due to this drug will last for up to four weeks. If you notice a reduction in your vaginal bleeding after therapy, you should contact your doctor. Sometimes a surgical abortion is required to altogether terminate a pregnancy. This is true in some situations. Following Mifepristone treatment, you may require surgery to remove any excess tissue from your uterus, which will increase the risk of pregnancy.
